Well, Oklacon is over, and it was quite a success. This was my first experience chairing a convention, and I will have to say it was a momentous and arduous, but extremely rewarding, task. I am truly amazed at my staff, who worked so hard all weekend to make everyone else's weekend enjoyable. The attendees were wonderful -- I'm was floored at how many regular attendees pitched in to serve as gophers here and there. The general mood of this convention was extraordinarily positive, and we were able to raise over $2,300 for our charity, Safari's. At $18 /attendee going for charity, we're more successful on a per-capita basis than any large convention can even dream of.
It was a pleasure to see familiar faces again, and I'm very happy I got to meet lots of new faces, from local and abroad. Thanks to everyone for giving me the opportunity to serve as your chairman -- it's been a blast.
